RYAN BROWN - cinematographer

After 10 years as “Head of Video Production” for a large multimedia company in Dallas, TX, Ryan made the movie to Los Angeles in 2012. His strong and unique visual talents quickly caught the eye of prominent producers and directors working in Hollywood. He tackled the A-list music video world, working with major artists such as Robin Thicke, LL Cool J, Wiz Khalifa, and many more, before signing on as cinematographer for the first two seasons of the national television show, “Being”. In the recent years, Ryan has found his calling in the feature film world. He has shot and/or produced a multitude of feature films for network television as well as for worldwide distribution. In 2020 alone, he shot a total of 7 feature films, all for major national television channels, and a slate of 8 additional features thruoghout 2021 and 2022 already booked so far.

Ryan attributes his successes to not only being great at what he does, but also his easy going but professional attitude on set. When the pressures of working on set hit, he is able to keep his cool demeanor, make it an enjoyable experience for those around him, and turn in professional, successful films time and time again. He’s become a go-to cinematographer for many producers and directors in the industry, frequently working with repeat clients, directors, and production companies.

Moving forward Ryan would like to continue with his passion of cinematography, but also start taking his producing side to the next level. When asked about producing, he responded with this: “Producing (for me) allows me to be a larger part of the creative process, and help bring new and interesting ideas to life. I LOVE thinking outside the box, finding hidden gems of talent and unique scripts that have yet to be tapped, and helping others bring their ideas and dreams to life. It’s gratifying for me to help others reach their goals, and I fully intend to keep that going and pay it forward throughout my career. My goals on the producing side are simple: help get projects made that speak to me as a person. Projects that really touch people, and hopefully make an impact on the world, whether that’s with one person in the audience, or millions of people around the world. I believe deeply in the art of cinema, and get great satisfaction knowing that my work (hopefully) helps people in trying times. A small escape from whatever is troubling them in their lives at the moment.”

A Note from the Director: Scott Cervine

Making a film is very much like building your dream house. You wouldn’t ‘dream’ of building that house without the perfect plans -- the ideal blue prints. That’s where we have a wonderful advantage. Our screenwriter Cynthia Whitcomb is not just good, she’s extraordinary. She’s the only writer (that I know) that has written every single week of her life. Literally. She has not only mastered, but teaches Screenwriting. If that weren’t enough, she then went on to master the Live Theatre as well. She is a force to be reckoned with, and we’re so proud to bring her skills to this motion picture. On the next page are over a dozen other sources that agree...
